Which solar panels qualify for the subsidy?

Only DCR (Domestic Content Requirement) solar panels, made with Indian solar cells, qualify for PM Surya Ghar Yojana subsidy. Hybrid kits with battery backup also qualify when configured with DCR panels. Non-DCR panels are not subsidy eligible.

How the central subsidy is calculated

The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy pays per kW of DCR solar capacity installed, on a sliding scale:

₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW of system size
₹18,000 for the 3rd kW
Capped at ₹78,000 for any system 3 kW or larger
Delhi residents get a further ₹30,000 state top-up on top of the central amount

Only DCR panels qualify — non-DCR kits and open-access/commercial installations are not eligible under this scheme. Hybrid kits with battery backup qualify when configured with DCR panels.
